CPSC CONDUCTS BENCHMARKING VISIT AT NBSC TO STRENGTHEN RESEARCH, EXTENSION, AND TRAINING PROGRAMS
Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), through its Research Development and Innovation Division (RDID), Community Extension Services Division (CESD), and Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO), warmly welcomed the delegation from Camiguin Polytechnic State College (CPSC) for a benchmarking activity on August 5, 2026, at the NBSC Boardroom. The visiting delegation was led by CPSC SUC President, Dr. Jenelyn G. Sabellina, and was received by NBSC SUC President I, Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera, CESE, together with key officials and personnel from the College.
Joining SUC President Sabellina were CPSC’s Supervising Administrative Officer, Ms. Michelle N. Lacierda, CPA; Director for Research Development and Innovation, Dr. Ma. Louella D. Salcedo; Director for Extension and Training Services, Dr. Christi M. Magto; and staff member, Ms. Jenevey E. Torrentira.
Representing NBSC’s RDID, Dr. Mary Koren Witting-Acuesa highlighted the importance of establishing strategic linkages that create opportunities for research funding and collaboration. As a best practice, she shared the value of conducting systematic calls for expressions of interest at least two years in advance and engaging a pool of experts to support the technical development and scalability of research projects across government instrumentalities. These initiatives help address research and development funding challenges while strengthening innovation outcomes.
For Community Extension Services, Mr. Alven L. Gomez presented the Division’s accomplishments, emphasizing its growth from modest beginnings in 2023 to the sustained implementation of 17 extension projects to date. He underscored the importance of building strategic partnerships with the College’s immediate communities and stakeholders, highlighting how these collaborations have fostered the reciprocal sharing of resources, knowledge, and expertise to support inclusive community development.
Meanwhile, Ms. Noreen Faye M. Esta, Officer-in-Charge of the HRMDO, discussed the benefits of implementing a comprehensive wellness program that responds to employees’ needs. The discussion on performance management further highlighted how Individual Development Plans (IDPs) align with employees’ professional growth priorities and are informed by a transparent, closely monitored Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) process.
The benchmarking activity served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange, with a particular focus on strengthening CPSC’s Research Development and Innovation, Extension, and Training Services programs. During the exploratory meeting, NBSC shared its best practices, institutional policies, management systems, and innovative initiatives through comprehensive presentations and interactive discussions. The productive exchange of ideas and experiences reinforced both institutions’ commitment to advancing quality, innovation, and excellence in higher education while fostering stronger academic collaboration and strategic partnerships
